Introducing the Watchdog Locking Security Pet Door Cover. Some people worry about the security of your pet door, or maybe even hold off on installing a door due to security concerns. This pet door cover is constructed of 12 gauge steel and features a combination lock fits on the outside of your house, allowing you to block off access to any potential intruders. Two models, one designed for installation into doors, and one for walls are available for purchase. Door is currently only available in white.

At first glance, it may appear that this product should be mounted on the interior of the house (it can with the door model); however, the manufacturer recommends that the cover be securely bolted to the exterior of your door or wall. With the cover securely bolted the outside of your home(bolts can not be removed from the outside), any potential intruder is immediately confronted with a steel barrier and never attempts to gain entry. The outside of a wall is also typically much stronger than the drywall interior side, ensuring that this cover will remain securely fastened. Because of the typical locking cover on the inside of the pet door, more clearance is needed for the steel door. There may not be enough room for an inside install.
