The Ruff Weather pet door is one of our most popular models as a better insulating utility pet door. It features a dual flap design, and is easily installed in both door mounted and wall mounted applications. The Ruff Weather comes in 4 different sizes which can accommodate most pets. The dual flaps are sealed by magnets along the flap bottom, and perform well in blocking the elements, leaves, bugs, and other debris from entering the home.
The Ruff Weather Pet doors are dual-flapped doors, designed to provide a buffering, insulating barrier for the pet opening. The flaps are flexible vinyl with a magnetic strip along the bottom. Brush-pile material lines frame in order to minimize drafts. The frame of this door is molded thermo-plastic with a profile of approx 2", as a result, their is a prominent profile. The Ruff Weather is rated as a very good dual flap utility pet door.
This door can be installed into either doors or walls. If electing to install into a wall, you will want to order the Wall Model below...it will come with a tunnel kit. This tunnel assembly kit needs to be snapped together to frame the lining through the wall. It is cinched in-between the frames of the Ruff Weather, by long screws.
Please note: This dog door will only fit walls up to 7 1/4" thick. Please measure your wall thickness prior to ordering. If you have a newer home with 2x6 stud walls, you may find that this pet door model will not have a long enough tunnel to fit completely through your wall, depending on the exterior veneer you have on your home.

 The wall kit will come standard when you choose a wall model above. You may also purchase the wall kit separately if you already have a door mounted Ruff Weather pet door. This wall kit works with the Original Ruff Weather as well as the Protector Series Ruff Weather doors. |
