This door can be installed into either doors or walls. If electing to install into a wall, you will want to order the Wall Model below...it will come with a tunnel kit. This tunnel assembly kit needs to be snapped together to frame the lining through the wall. It is cinched in-between the frames of the Ruff Weather, by long screws.

Older Versions of the Ruff Weather had a CREAM COLORED FRAME with CLEAR vinyl flaps. These newer "Designer" models have the same size pet openings and rough cut requirements, but feature a light grey frame and tinted flaps, so they are interchangeable if you are replacing an older model with a new unit. The flaps are exactly the same size in both older & newer versions. Customers can select clear or tinted flaps when replacing.

One nice dog door!
For the price the Ruff Weather is just great! Not to much money for a really good door! Plus the staff at MoorePet were excellent in helping me find the right size for my pets! I think i love the door more then the pets so i dont have to get up and let them out all the time now they have all the freedom they could ever want! Thanks alot MoorePet!!

This door was an affordable option for me. It insulates as well as I expected and the dogs love the freedom it gives them. I just had to order replacement flaps and the process was very simple. In stock and to me in 3 days. Thanks!

Happy in MN
Thanks for a great pet door. I went with this one mostly for financial reasons. The pet door works very well and we are happy with it, but in hindsight I wish I had gone with the MaxSeal door. I have a friend that purchased a MaxSeal dog door and they have no energy loss what so ever. The frame on the Ruff Weather sticks out about 2 inches from our door and is a bit of an eyesore. Fortunately it is in a utility room so I don't see it all that often. The next time around I will opt for the better MaxSeal model.

just right
We put this door in our utility room so our dogs could go out to the garage and then outside through a different door when they want to. We wanted something that was insulated, but the maxseal wasn't really in our price range. So far the door has been great and the dogs are going in and out all day long.

Good garage door.
It leads from our garage to the outside and we just needed it to be pretty good as far as insulation goes and the looks of the doggie didnt matter. We called in and got some advice, we took that advice, and went with this door. It fit. The installation was easy, we added some weather stripping, and it works wonderfully. It keeps out the cold just like we wanted and the dog has no trouble using it. Also.. the two security panels are a big advantage over just the one that the other doors come with. You can shut the inside and outside off if you expect bad weather.

...
I bought one of these Ruff Weather doors about a year ago, and I am just getting ready to buy another for a different area of my home. I was hesitant to purchase this door at first as it seemed kind of cheap in comparison to the Hales, but I could not really justify spending hundreds of dollars on a dog door. While I don't think the Ruff Weather is the most attractive looking door, it has been very effective in sealing out of the cold weather and my dogs can use it with ease. I would recommend this door to anyone looking for a door that will be energy efficent and affordable.

Tough as nails
I have two Rottweilers that are typically pretty hard on everything they touch. They are not really chewers, but they claw and bang into whatever is around them. This dog door has been a god-sent. The dogs carry all range of odd items through the pet door and manage to hit the dog door frame going in and out with whatever they are carrying. The plastic frame is nice because it doesnt dent like our previous alluminum one did. So far the Ruff Weather has been great. Thanks a bunch.

Satisfied Customer
We really like our Ruff Weather door almost as much as our dog. We installed it in our wall in the kitchen. At first we where worried about cold winter air coming in but, once we had it for a few days we realized that the door really did work and insulated well just like the sales person had told us. We are very satisfied with the door and the service we received from your company. Thank you

Great Insulator
As winter is steadily approaching us in the Midwest. I can already tell the impact that our ruff weather pet door has had. We installed this thing in the summer and was skeptical about how it will hold up this winter. Thus far we are very satisfied. It isn't freezing yet but we do have our share of cold and breezy days. I think this door will be very good throughout the winter as far as insalltion is concerned and would recommend it to anyone.
