Door model fits 1 1/4" to 2" thick doors
Each door has a slide-in Locking Security Panel that can be inserted to block off the pet door or completely removed to allow your pet access. This panel is made with 1/4" that provides more security than any other economy priced dog or pet door. Both Wall & Door models have the flap located on the exterior frame to maximize weather protection. These pet doors are offered in WHITE or BRONZE (Dark Brown) powder coated frames. The Security Panel comes in white or black.
Note: Optional Extreme High Wind Magnets are available for very windy locations.

sturdy design, strong parts
Pretty easy to install with the right tools. Comes with a drill bit for the screws that hold the two frame halves together. I like this design because it seems simple, strong, robust, and easy to maintain. the flap is thick and has some coating that prevents yellowing. I bought my first one in 2014 and 6 years later, it is still "clear". Some cloudiness but likely due to me scrubbing my dog's nose water and mud off of it. I purchased a second because I moved. In high wind, it will flap around a little. Maybe buy the weather strong version if you need it. Only one dog 65 lbs. The guard appears to be 1/4 acrylic, has a spring loaded screw to secure to the frame. Improvement from the last one I had, which was only spring loaded pin. If you knew where to push, you could bend and push the cover off from the outside. Threaded design should be more tamperproof.
