The PetSafe Plastic Pet door is ideal for a variety of installation applications, including traditional doors, storm doors and porches. This door consists of an interior and exterior frame that is constructed with plastic. This frame is not considered a strong or rigid frame. The grade of plastic used is relatively inexpensive. The plastic pet door comes with a plastic panel that fits over the top of the frame, front load. The pet opening cover is thin plastic and does not lock into place. This is not considered to offer ANY security and should not be relied on for this purpose. 
The Plastic Door will NOT self-frame the cut through the door. There are vinyl 'strips' included that must be cut on site to line the rough cut portion of the door.
