The Otto Step is 18" wide by 16" deep with a 6" 2x2 stinger that fits snugly into any 2" trailer hitch receiver. The step has notches that make it fit snuggly against the hitch receiver so there is no ground seen when looking down for the dog. The extension is 22" in length and extends out far enough to clear all the tailgates that are out in the market to date.

Very Simple
I have used this step for my large dogs to get in and out of my truck now for almost a year. It is very easy to attach to the truck and sure beats the heck out of lifting my 150 pounder up and down. Everyone with large dogs should have one of these!

Easy In, Easy Out
My German Shepherd "Gypsy" had a hip replacement several weeks ago. This Otto step makes it so very easy for her to access my vehicle for her Vet checkups. What an ingenious idea for the larger pets.
