I love the new door, it's quite solid and sturdy compared to the original, plastic one. The hinged flaps are perfect and will keep the material from cracking with our wild temperature swings here in Colorado. My only criticism is that the flaps are completely clear with zero patterns (or privacy), so they show as dirty VERY quickly. I'd definitely recommend a frosted version. Funny story: the flaps were so clean and clear after installing them, one of my dogs had to be taught how to go through the door again as they totally messed with his head.

Now that it is installed it is great. But the directions were really hard to understand. Additional pictures that describe the parts that are being referred to and how they go in relation to one another would have been helpful.

I replaced the old flaps and security door with this conversion kit. The original dog door was installed over 15 years ago so it was time. Everything fit perfectly. I found it was easier to remove the dog door "frame" then try to install it while it was in place. Removing the frame portion only involved removing 4 screws and it slide out so was very easy. The flaps and security door fit perfect so we are ready for another 15 + years. We live in the mountains of Colorado so it get very cold - the double flaps work great keeping the cold air, snow and wind out. My only complaint was it took about 2 months and a couple of phone calls for the package to arrive.
