The Loft Aluminum Safety Gate is hardware mounted gate that fits openings from 26.5" to 40.5".

This gate features an Integrated Tuning System to allow it to accommodate any uneven surface, and an Indexed Sizing System that allows for the gate to be retracted or extended to reach the perfect fit for your opening.

This gate has a quick-release system that allows it to be quickly removed for high-traffic times or when entertaining. The door swings in both directions and features a double locking handle that is easy for adults, yet difficult for children to operate.

Note: Only use this gate with the locking mechanism securely engaged, and do not use with children that are able to climb over or dislodge gate or enclosure.

I have 5 of these gates sectioning off several areas of my home. The mounts do not look bad if you decide to remove the gate as the mounts are low profile. It is realatively easy to remove the gate itself. I dont understand what the previous reviewer meant because these gates are not and will not stretch to 5'. I wish they did. I have Old English Sheepdogs and they can with stand the 90lbs or so when the dog is draped over the top of the gate. This gate swings easily and are the width of the door facing. These are the best gates that I have found and I have several of these gates that have been mounted since 2006.

Poor Customer Service/Return Policy, Great Gate

This gate looks to be extremely heavy duty. Unfortunately, I did not realize before purchasing that the gate requires approx. 5 feet of flat vertical space to slide the gate onto the wall-mounted bracket, something our space would not allow given some decorative trim, so the gate will need to be returned. Return shipping is NOT included and would cost more than $125 via USPS. When I called to discuss exchanging for another gate, I was put on hold for 15 minutes before hanging up. Guess I will sell the gate locally and look elsewhere (with free returns!).
